Past Events

  • Indianapolis Holiday Bus Trip - We shopped and enjoyed  the 2010 Yuletide Celebration as five-time Grammy winner Sandi Patty reunited with Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra's Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly and hosted Indiana's finest holiday extravaganza, the Duke Energy Yuletide Celebration. For 25 years, families have enjoyed this musical program featuring Broadway actors, flying reindeer, tap dancing Santas and the most treasured music in the holiday songbook. • Ann Arbor Street Art Fair - Thanks to Mary Campbell and Marylou Hipskind. A really fun day was had by those who took advantage of a comfortable bus trip with lots of goodies to the Ann Arbor Art Fair on July 15, 2009. There was no fighting traffic or dealing with parking. The bus driver accommodated shoppers by making the bus available mid-day for stashing purchases. The fair is quite a spectacle with vendors literally from coast to coast, selling trinkets, costly art, and innovations new to the art world. The weather was pleasant, the food fabulous, and the service from our hostesses and their volunteers made for a very delightful day. We all look forward to fun when these hostesses have another event.
  • A Taste of the Classics - Alicia Pyle, noted Fort Wayne classical & jazz pianist, gave a benefit recital at Sweetwater Sound on April 30, 2009. All proceeds went to support the Philharmonic Friends ongoing scholarship and educational programs. Alicia was the featured pianist for the 2006 Fort Wayne Philharmonic Gala after winning the Philharmonic Friends 2005 Young Artists Competition.

  • The Art Strings Auction was held on on November 13, 2008 and was a great event with good food, good company and a dynamite auctioneer! Click here to see what you missed! All of the violins, which were transformed into original works of art by local artists, were sold. Many of the artists attended the event making the evening even more fun. The proceeds of the sale will go toward funding the Friends' education programs. Special thanks to Cynthia Fyock of Calhoun Street Emporium for contacting and working with the artists and Rebecca Ravine for arranging the venue at the Summit Club as well as the other volunteers and supporters listed here.

  • The Bus Trips to Chicago were a success! A big THANK YOU for all of you who made it so.
